About GlyphIndex
Find a character, understand the difference, and check the text you copy.
A character for the task
GlyphIndex helps you find and copy Unicode characters for notes, formulas, headings, and everyday writing. Each reference page explains the character, shows its code points, and compares marks that are easy to confuse. Collections bring related choices together.
What is in this edition
| Content | Scope |
|---|---|
| Character and letter-family pages | 123 curated pages, including the 24 Greek letter families. |
| Collections | 18 groups for distinct browsing and composition tasks. |
| Text tools | 6 tools that process input in the browser. |
| Blog | 6 complete practical workflows with original examples. |
| Docs | 6 complete operating and troubleshooting guides. |
The reference covers a selected set of characters rather than all of Unicode. Search looks through that set. The tools also accept text containing characters without their own reference page, within the input limits shown beside each tool.
How the tools work
All six text tools process your input on your device, with no login required. You choose when to copy text, save a symbol, or download a result. The English interface accepts text in other scripts too.
A Unicode name identifies a character; a label explains how an example uses it. For instance, Done gives a check mark a role in a checklist. Its shape alone does not explain the status, and it may look different in another font.
